Lesson Plan Resources and Technology in the Classroom

The resources presented in class tonight are so helpful because as stated, not all children learn in the same ways and technology must be integrated into today's lessons.  Teachers should consistently seek new resources to assist them in presenting content in engaging ways.  Most classrooms today have at lease a projector, which has many capabilities in itself...who knew?!

Additionally, many of the resources are there and done for teachers to use; to integrate technology into content in meaningful ways, so they should be used.

There are also many organizations and corporate companies waiting to offer resources to classrooms and education.

Resources:
  • KidBlog - have students do it on paper first and the actual blogging be the publishing portion; the motivation for students to do the writing portion of their assignment.
  • Powerpoint game show templates for student engagement and lesson review.
  • iUniverse or Lulu for publishing student work.
  • What is EduCanon?  FREE lesson plan functionality with video.
    • only use a portion of the video by cropping it.
    • build questions applicable to the video/lesson.
    • ASSIGN "bulbs" to dates and/or classes and/or individuals
    • SO COOL...LOVE THIS!
  • What is TedEd? Tech integrated lesson plan sharing for student engagement and teacher tools.
  • Use the projector with Paint and a wireless mouse or wireless pen to mimic a SmartBoard!  Ohhhh :)
A Future Classroom video...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uZ73ZsBkcus WOW! How exciting is that?!

  2. Hi Natalie,

Well, that was annoying, and possibly ironic. I just spent several minutes (at least 10) writing you a note, thanking you for posting your wonderful list of technology resources, and I made some funny jokes, too, about futuristic classrooms -- only to have this stupid e-mail system destroy my letter. I was incredibly frustrated. Which is probably about how it goes for teachers on some days as they try to deal with technology in their classrooms.

Thanks again for your very helpful and thorough list.
